Default what can you recommend for a good bottle of merlot that will not kill my wallet?
i got a friend that is moving from NV to TX and i will like to give him a bottle of very good merlot.

Blackstone merlot or Robert Mondavi private selection merlot.

Look for Pepperwood. It is good and inexpersive. Good Pinot and Zinfedel also!

If you are on a tight budget, go with Beringer or Covey Run.
