Default Can sherry vinegar be made using sherry cooking wine and white distilled vinegar?

If so, what ratio of sherry to vinegar? Thanks,

No. All you'll make is a bizarre, crudely sour sherry cocktail. <s> If it were that easy, sherry vinegar wouldn't be the highly valued ingredient it is, and we'd all be making it. :-)

Now, if on the other hand, you happen to have found a cask of poorly preserved sherry in your cellar....... <vbg>

All the best.
