Default Can anyone share thoughts on Neal Family Cabernet Sauvignon?

A friend gave me a bottle of 2003 Napa Valley.

A very primary wine indeed but a fabulous one as well. Curiosity simply got the best of me. Nice purple color although not nearly as dark as the inky black I was expecting given what I'd heard. I get a lot of blueberry in this one with notes of blackberry and chocolate covered cherries. Definitely some oak. Nothing noted of an earthy nuance. Tannins are mouth coating but not overly drying. Something a little herbaceous mid-palate that disappears as the finish lingers. A well-made, enjoyable wine. I've no regrets about opening this wine now as I enjoyed it thoroughly.
