Default Really good (yet affordable) wines? Chianti, Pinot Noir or Pinot Grigio?

Help!! I have been searching for nice Chianti, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio by trying different brands when I buy. I have not found a decent Chianti (I'm in the US), and would love some recommendations for nice, yet affordable (that's the key) wine.
Thanks!!
