My common law wife went ballastic when I ordered a glass in front of her "type A" boss. All he said was, "Hey Doris, whatever floats your boat!" Funny thing is, my name is Ken.

Hey, at least you were drinking wine.....White Zinfandel to me is like a "starter" wine with traing wheels that helps you eventually learn to appreciate all other wines that are a bit more dry, both red and white. I had a boss that thought Mogen David was perfect with a fine steak....he called dry wines "old sour vinegar".

Be informed, that most even halfway serious wine drinkers (snobs) really look down on those who drink white Zinfandel.
Personally, I think you wife's boss showed incredibly bad manners by making his comment. Next time (if ever) order something else like a beer or a mixed drink. Oh yeah, tell your wife to get off your back...
